Cider-making is deeply rooted in Hardanger’s culture. Experience the essence of Hardanger’s cider tradition at Syse Gard in Ulvik, where the fertile soil and microclimate are ideal for fruit farming. Nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes, the tour of Syse Farm offers an in-depth understanding of the cider-making traditions.

Learn about the production

The tour starts with stepping into the cider production facility. Here you’ll witness the meticulous process of making the cider. From hand-selecting the finest apples to pressing and fermenting the fruit into liquid gold. The knowledgeable hosts share the rich history of their farm, offering insights into its seasonal rhythms and time-honoured techniques passed down through generations.

Farm tour and tasting

The tour continues with a walk through the farm’s orchards. Here, you’ll get close to the rows of apple and cherry trees flourishing under the Norwegian sun.

Then it’s time to do some tasting! Retreat to the cosy presentation room where you’ll get a guided tasting experience. Savour the clean, crisp, and aromatic flavours of Syse’s cider, expertly blended to achieve the perfect balance of acidity and fruitiness.
