This tour includes some of the highlights the region offers and gives you valuable insights into both the nature and the culture of Hardanger. In only 3 hours, you will explore parts of the Hardangerfjord as well as the lesser-known fjord arms of Osafjorden and Ulvikfjorden. In addition, you will visit one of the local farms in Ulvik and learn about their famous cider production.

Get close to nature

Your adventure starts with getting dressed up in a flotation suit on the quay in Eidfjord, followed by a short safety instruction. As soon as you are all set, you board the RIB and set out on the fjord.

From Eidfjord, the captain first takes you out on the Hardangerfjord for a bit where you will see the massive Hardangerbrua bridge in the distance. Then, you will go into the lesser-known Osafjord, before finally going into Ulvik. Along the way, the captain will make a few stops to tell stories about what you see – so make sure to have your camera available.

In addition to the beautiful landscape, there are good chances of spotting wildlife on the fjord. Eagles, seals, porpoises and orcas are among the animals you can come by.

A taste of the local culture

In Ulvik, you make a stop at Ulvik Frukt & Sideri. It is one of the Cider Route’s local farms and cider producers. Here, you will meet the owner, who will share insights into making Hardanger Cider and life on a fruit farm by the fjord. And, of course, you will get to sample some of their produce. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available.

The local hotel will also provide traditional food for you to taste. When the tasting is over, you return to the RIB and go back to Eidfjord, hopefully with lots of new and good memories from your half-day tour.
