Cider tasting tour to Ulvik from Voss 

This package is a great opportunity for you who are staying in Voss but want to visit Ulvik by the Hardangerfjord and try its famous apple cider.  

From Voss, you take the local bus to Ulvik centre. It’s not without reason that Ulvik is named the Pearl of Hardanger. The idyllic village is nestled between a particularly scenic part of the fjord and majestic, tall mountains. In between you find apple orchards as far as the eye can see. 

In Ulvik, a cider-tasting experience at one of the local farms awaits. You can choose to do the tasting at either 12:00 or 13:00. Before or after the tasting, you can opt to have lunch, visit the museum dedicated to the local poet Olav H. Hauge or just walk around to take in the atmosphere.  

The cider farm, Syse Gard, is situated a 30 minutes’ walk from the bus stop and town centre. Make sure you are back in time for the bus back to Voss.  

Itinerary:

• 10:05: Bus departure from Voss station (bus 945)B 
• 11:10: Bus arrival to Ulvik 
  • Walk to the cider farm, Syse Gard (Apalvegen 104). The walk takes approx. 30 minutes. 
  • Walk to the cider farm, Lekve Gard. The walk takes approx. 40 minutes. 
• 12:00 or 13:00: Cider tasting at Syse Gard or Lekve Gard (select place and time in the second step when booking the package) 
  • Walk back to Ulvik and enjoy the fjord view, the promenade and perhaps some lunch at Brakanes Hotel or Yppal café. The walk back takes approx. 30 minutes. 
• 15:13: Bus departure from Ulvik centre bus stop (bus 945) 
• 16:10: Arrival to Voss

Syse Gard: Farmer’s market and cider tasting  

The smallest of the two and the first one you come to when walking the Fruit and Cider Route from Ulvik centre. Syse gives more of a traditional farm feeling and in addition to the ciders, it offers locally made snacks together with the cider tasting board. In the onsite farm shop, you’ll find a variety of processed fruit products, such as jams and juices as well as cider. They also sell traditional cured hams and sausages made of lamb.   

Syse Gard is situated a 30-minute’ walk from the bus stop and town centre. 

Lekve Gard: Cider factory with a tasting flight  

Lekve Gard is also known as “Hardanger Saft- og siderfabrikk”, and was the first producer of cider for commercial use. They produce a wide range of apple juices in addition to more than 20 different ciders. Lekve also has a distillery where fine spirits are aged in oak barrels. You can opt to try 3 types of their stronger liquids instead of the cider board. If you want to purchase any of their products, drop by their outlet before leaving.

Lekve Gard is situated approximately 40 minutes walk from Ulvik centre.  

Make sure you are back in time for the bus back to Voss.
